Value Chain Initiative

The research, development, production, processing, export and marketing of soybeans are a chain process, involving different people, organizations, agencies and consumers. Enhancement of the product value through processing adds benefits to each of the players in this chain. Thus, development of markets for IP soybeans has opened opportunities for increased benefits to growers, processors, exporters, retailers and consumers.

Some of our current partnerships include;

• Agriculture Industrial Development; an alliance amongst several partners in research, industry and government in Eastern Ontario to develop value-added uses of agriculture inputs and to strengthen the non-gmo food-grade soybean industry. This initiative is supported in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
• Eastern Canada Oilseeds Alliance; a new partnership of industry, research and government organizations to broaden the opportunities of oilseed production and processing in Eastern Canada and to establish a center of excellence in non-gmo soybean and canola variety development.
